Amanda loves dogs, but she didn't know she loved alien dogs until she accidentally created one!
Originally this work was just a doodle based on a reference photo from a local humane society. When it came time to color the piece digitally, it went through a rapid evolution of color, style, and artistic intent. Like many of Amanda's personal works, this piece became a mode of experimentation. Playing with color, Amanda made use of a limited, but brightly colored scheme that eventually opened the door to several other new stylistic choices. most significantly, Amanda discarded the common color blend or cell-shading techniques. Instead she attempted a process that made use of numerous singular lines. Satisfyingly this technique provided both depth and texture to the illustration. As hoped, it made the piece stylistically unique.
